Baqaei said in a post on his social media account that Rubio's remarks cannot replace the facts. He stated that Ansarallah makes its decisions independently and does not take instructions from any country.

Arguing that US military interventions and hegemonic policies lie at the root of instability in the region, Baqaei said Washington should end its interventions in the region if it genuinely seeks peace.

Baqaei said peace in Yemen cannot be imposed with bombs and external pressure, adding that the solution should begin with genuine negotiations based on a roadmap agreed upon by the parties.
