Swiss Foreign Minister Cassis met with UN Humanitarian Coordinator Tom Fletcher as part of ICForum2026 held in Geneva.

Cassis stated that in the current environment of increasing needs and decreasing funding, the humanitarian aid system must undergo reform in order to preserve its credibility. “We discussed revitalizing donor engagement while strongly upholding the principles of neutrality, independence, and respect for international humanitarian law,” he said.

Emphasizing that Switzerland will continue to be a committed partner in this restructuring process, Cassis added, “Geneva will continue to strengthen its role as the global hub for principled and innovative humanitarian aid.”
