Israeli FM Saar holds talks with Dutch counterpart Berendsen
Jerusalem, April 16 (Hibya) – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar discussed Lebanon, Iran, terrorism threats, and bilateral relations in a phone call with Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen.
Israeli Foreign Minister Saar held comprehensive talks with Dutch Foreign Minister Berendsen.
The meeting addressed Israel’s decision to begin direct negotiations with Lebanon and recent contacts held in Washington. Saar stated that threats originating from Hezbollah affect both Israel’s security and Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The ceasefire process with Iran and U.S.-Iran negotiations were also discussed, with the Israeli side expressing support for diplomatic efforts regarding the nuclear program, ballistic missile capabilities, and regional proxy actors.
Saar also referred to several terrorist and antisemitic attacks in the Netherlands, emphasizing the importance of the security of the Jewish community and the need to address such incidents seriously.
The discussion highlighted the long-standing friendship between Israel and the Netherlands, with both sides agreeing to continue cooperation and dialogue.
