Tel Aviv, June 1 (Hibya) - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz congratulated Major General Roman Gofman on the approval of his appointment as head of the Mossad, expressing confidence that he will successfully lead the agency in the face of the threats confronting the country.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a statement following the formalization of the appointment decision and regarding the legal debates surrounding the process.
Expressing his satisfaction with the appointment, Katz said, "I congratulate Major General Roman Gofman on the approval of his appointment as head of the Mossad."
Highlighting that the legal obstacles in the appointment process had been overcome, Katz stated, "I am pleased that the hostile petitions and legal battles aimed at preventing the appointment have failed and that justice has prevailed."
Praising Gofman's military and leadership qualities, Katz said, "Roman is a first-class security professional, an exceptional warrior and commander who has demonstrated courage, determination, and leadership both on the battlefield and in decision-making centers."
Katz concluded his statement by saying, "I am confident that he will successfully lead the Mossad against the many threats facing the State of Israel and make a decisive contribution to Israel's security. His success is the success of us all."
