Lahbib: Hurricane Ditwah caused many deaths in Sri Lanka
Brussels, November 30 (Hibya) – EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that Hurricane Ditwah caused many deaths and displaced thousands in Sri Lanka.
Commissioner Hadja Lahbib reported that Hurricane Ditwah resulted in the loss of many lives and forced thousands of people to leave their homes in Sri Lanka.
She added that the EU will provide support: “Our EU humanitarian rapid response coordinator has been deployed to the region to help assess the situation and needs together with Sri Lankan authorities and humanitarian partners.”
