Australia’s ASX 200 index fell 0.62 percent to 8,689.80 points. In Japan, the Nikkei index traded down 0.15 percent at 62,621.45 points.
In India, the Nifty 50 index lost 1.23 percent to 23,877.85 points, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index declined 0.29 percent to 26,318.37 points.
In China, the Shanghai Composite Index diverged positively, rising 0.94 percent to 4,219.133 points.
