Petro: 77 injured in plane crash, condition of 43 unclear
Bogota, March 23 (Hibya) - Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced that 77 people were injured following the crash of a military transport aircraft, one person died, and the condition of 43 people has not yet been determined.
A military transport aircraft belonging to the Colombian Air Force crashed during takeoff in the city of Puerto Leguizamo in the Putumayo region.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro stated that operations are ongoing, saying: «So far, there are 77 injured people in hospitals, one person has died, and the condition of 43 people has not yet been determined.»
Petro noted that there is no information about the cause of the crash, stating: «The reasons for the crash of the Hercules aircraft are not yet known.»
Petro wished strength to the families of the soldiers.
