Rubio designates Ecuador-based Los Tiguerones gang as terrorist organization
Washington, September 9 (Hibya) - United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the Ecuador-based Los Tiguerones gang has been designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.
Rubio said in a post on his social media account that Los Tiguerones helps Mexican cartels transport and export illegal drugs.
Rubio said Los Tiguerones finances terrorist and criminal activities through these operations and stated that the gang is linked to attacks against civilians, law enforcement officers and journalists.
Rubio said that under the leadership of US President Donald Trump, the fight against violent narcoterrorist organizations that transport drugs into the country would continue.
