Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized the strategic role of women in foreign policy and state governance in a statement made on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Sybiha said: “Ukrainian women are increasingly shaping the face of modern diplomacy; they represent their country on the international stage, lead complex negotiations, and strengthen global support for Ukraine.”

Noting that women’s participation in decision-making processes makes diplomacy more effective, Sybiha stated: “Their professionalism, leadership, and dedication advance Ukraine’s interests worldwide. Experience shows that when women fully participate in international dialogue and decision-making processes, diplomacy becomes stronger and more effective. Strong diplomacy begins with equal opportunity.”

Minister Sybiha concluded his message by saying: “We are grateful to Ukrainian women who contribute every day to Ukraine’s strength and resilience—diplomats, fighters, volunteers, doctors, teachers, journalists, and many others.”
