Tajani: We strongly condemn the attacks carried out in Iraq
Rome, March 21 (Hibya) - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced that G7 countries have signed a joint declaration against Iran’s military activities in the region.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani issued a warning to the Iranian regime following diplomatic contacts conducted within the framework of the G7 presidency.
Tajani stated that G7 countries have taken a firm stance against Iran’s recent attacks and underlined their support for countries in the region.
Expressing the joint call to Iran, Tajani said: “We call on the Iranian regime to immediately and unconditionally stop its attacks and firmly reiterate the importance of ensuring maritime security, including in the Strait of Hormuz.”
Emphasizing the right of allies in the region to defend themselves, Tajani said: “G7 countries are united in supporting the right of states affected by unjust attacks carried out by Iran or its allies to defend their sovereignty and protect their citizens.”
Minister Tajani also drew attention to tensions in Iraq, stating: “We strongly condemn the serious attacks carried out in Iraq.”
