UNRWA: Gaza's health system has been under attack since the war began
New York, April 7 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) stated that the entire health system in Gaza, including medical personnel, has been under attack since the start of the war.
In a statement from UNRWA, it was noted that Gaza’s entire health system, including medical staff, has been under attack since the beginning of the war.
The statement added that just a few days ago, a former UNRWA health center was struck by Israeli forces:
“More than 700 civilians were sheltering there. Doctors recount endless stories of patients who could have been saved if medical supplies were available. Health workers and facilities must be protected under international law. Healthcare is not a target.”
