Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita met with German Foreign Minister Johann David Wadephul at the second session of the Morocco-Germany Multidimensional Strategic Dialogue in Rabat.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the strong course of bilateral relations and highlighted significant progress following the 2024 Berlin Declaration. They agreed to further strengthen cooperation in political, economic, cultural and security fields.

Both countries pointed to the growing momentum in trade and investments and agreed to explore new opportunities, particularly in renewable energy, green hydrogen, digitalization and infrastructure. German investments in Morocco were noted to contribute to sustainable development.

On migration, priorities included reducing irregular migration, strengthening readmission processes, and promoting legal migration and professional mobility.

The sides also agreed to enhance cooperation in counterterrorism, organized crime and security, with plans to deepen military and defense cooperation.

On international issues, both countries reaffirmed their support for the UN-led multilateral system, emphasized support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity, and called for a ceasefire in the Middle East and diplomatic solutions.

Regarding Western Sahara, Germany stated that it views Morocco’s autonomy plan as a “serious and credible basis,” emphasizing that a solution should be found within the UN framework.

The parties expressed determination to continue the strategic dialogue and further advance their comprehensive partnership.
