Macron met with Pope Leo XIV
Paris, May 15 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron held a meeting with Pope Leo XIV.
President Emmanuel Macron met with Pope Leo XIV to extend his congratulations.
Macron stated that during the meeting, efforts to silence weapons and achieve lasting peace around the world—especially in Ukraine and Gaza—were discussed. "We share the goal of reconciling the fight against poverty with the protection of the planet. France supports this effort with over 70 partners from all continents under the Pact for Prosperity, People and the Planet. This is what the world will stand for at the UN Ocean Conference to be held in early June in Nice," he said.
Macron emphasized that France will always stand by those who work for peace and dialogue among peoples.
