Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the missile attack on the UAE-owned ADNOC tanker while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

In its statement, Doha said the attack constituted a clear violation of international law and freedom of maritime navigation. Qatar also argued that the attack was contrary to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817.

Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that it categorically rejects the use of the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of pressure.

The ministry called for the unconditional reopening of the strategic waterway, emphasizing that freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is a fundamental and non-negotiable principle.

The statement said that keeping the strait closed threatens not only the vital interests of countries in the region, but also the global economy.

Qatar said Iran's attacks on assets belonging to brotherly countries in the region must come to an end and declared its full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates.

Doha also said it supports all measures taken by the UAE to protect its assets.
