Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha meets Belgian counterpart Prevot
Kyiv, August 18 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with his Belgian counterpart Maxime Prevot in the shelter of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry due to Russian drone attacks. Sybiha said Belgium's support for Ukraine had exceeded 4.6 billion euros.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha hosted his Belgian counterpart Prevot as part of his official visit to Ukraine.
Sybiha said the talks were held in the shelter of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry due to Russian drone attacks on the capital. He said this was part of everyday life for millions of Ukrainians.
The meeting addressed the situation on Ukraine's front line, Russia's attacks on the Ukrainian people and civilian maritime shipping, as well as ongoing peace efforts.
Sybiha also expressed solidarity with Belgium over the devastating forest fires and said Ukraine was ready to provide support in dealing with the fires and their consequences.
Sybiha said Belgium had provided Ukraine with more than 4.6 billion euros in military, energy, humanitarian and financial support since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, noting that military aid provided this year through bilateral and multilateral programs had exceeded 1 billion euros.
Sybiha also thanked Belgium for its support for the reconstruction of the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.
