UNRWA: Blockade imposed by Israeli authorities must be lifted
New York, April 29 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has stated that the blockade imposed by Israeli authorities must be lifted.
According to a statement by UNRWA, aid is ready to be delivered to Gaza and is only waiting for the crossings to reopen.
The statement noted that essential supplies for those in need are running out, while hunger is deepening. “UNRWA has around 3,000 trucks of life-saving aid waiting,” it said.
It also said the World Food Programme reported that over 116,000 metric tons of food aid is ready for delivery and emphasized the need to lift the blockade imposed by Israeli authorities.
