Following his meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever, French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that the European Union must act in unity in the face of major challenges. He described the meeting as "a very good exchange" and reaffirmed the two countries' shared commitment to enhancing sovereignty, security, and competitiveness.

Regarding the war in Ukraine, Macron stated: "Our objective is clear: to achieve a full and lasting ceasefire and build a solid peace agreement that serves the interests of both Ukraine and Europe." He added that work is ongoing with Belgium and other partners under the volunteer coalition launched in Paris on March 27.
