Sources say the allies agreed last month to a “partial deployment” of the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 system, expected to last “several months.”

The agency reported that the U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) stated that “as part of a rotational deployment, personnel and equipment will temporarily be relocated from the Republic of Korea.”

The U.S. military in South Korea will reportedly continue to maintain “a ready, capable, and lethal force to respond to any scenario on the Korean Peninsula.”

NBC News had previously reported that U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth approved the redeployment of at least two Patriot batteries from Asia to the Middle East due to military operations against Houthi rebels in Yemen.
