Lazzarini: Pain, destruction, and hunger have continued in Gaza for two years
New York, October 7 (Hibya) – Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stated that the tragedy that began on October 7, 2023, has continued for two years with pain, destruction, and hunger.
Lazzarini noted that for two years, the people of Gaza have faced nothing but destruction, displacement, bombardment, fear, death, and hunger.
He called for the release of all hostages and Palestinian prisoners, an immediate ceasefire, the silencing of all weapons, uninterrupted and comprehensive humanitarian aid to Gaza, and accountability for those responsible for the atrocities committed after October 7.
“There is no other way out of this abyss and chaos,” said Lazzarini, urging the international community to take action.
