Shoff: The conflicts of the future will take place in the digital domain
The Hague, September 30 (Hibya) – Dutch Prime Minister Dick Shoff emphasized in his speech at the annual One Conference NL in The Hague that threats in the digital sphere are becoming increasingly visible.
Dutch Prime Minister Shoff spoke at the opening of the One Conference NL in The Hague. Shoff stated: “The military conflicts of the future will no longer take place only on battlefields. States are becoming increasingly active in the digital domain, and this is not always with good intentions.”
Shoff noted that digital threats are now visible and tangible not only to experts but to everyone. He stressed that the war in Ukraine serves as an important warning in this regard.
Shoff pointed out that recent digital attacks on prosecution systems in the Netherlands, and the subsequent publication of hundreds of thousands of medical records, once again highlighted the importance of digital security, adding that cybersecurity conferences in Europe are of critical importance.
Shoff concluded his remarks by sharing the full text of his speech with participants, calling for stronger digital security and international cooperation.
