Tajani: Lasting peace in the Middle East is possible through the two-state solution
Rome, October 7 (Hibya) – Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that intensive work is being done on the two-state solution.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tajani emphasized that the attacks carried out by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement against Israel on October 7, 2023, resulted in that day’s tragedy and in ongoing destruction in Gaza, where thousands of innocent lives have been lost.
Noting that a potential peace agreement has become more concrete, Tajani said: “We are working intensively on the two-state solution to ensure peaceful coexistence between the peoples of Israel and Palestine. The terrorists of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement must have no role in this process.”
Tajani stressed that Italy, together with other European countries, is ready to achieve this goal quickly, adding:
“We owe this to the victims of October 7. We owe it to ourselves, because a peaceful Middle East would be a major hub of stability and development for the Mediterranean region.”
